Welcome to our Writing Class! -Guidelines

Good morning. As you will be getting your Language Arts from my class for a few weeks, I decided to to a few things differently. We need more experience using technology and writing on a regular basis. Therefore, each student will be using this website to practice reading and writing their ideas or answers to questions. This is a graded classroom assignment. Please take it seriously.

Our class will work through a rotation of reading and writing centers. The writing center will focus on reading a question that I post, reading what other students have said about it, and commenting on my question and any other student's ideas that you read. You only need to post one time each day, but may return other times to see what other students have said after you posted your comment.

Now, there must be some rules to keep this safe. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THESE RULES:
1- Keep your post on topic. Do not write about things other than what the day's topic is asking.
2- Always use clean language. Remember, there is no hiding what you write when you post it.
3- Respect your classmates, the website, and yourself by not writing hurtful things or being dishonest in your writing.
4- Your spelling does not have to be perfect, but make every effort to use complete sentences, correct grammar, and your best spelling.
5- DO NOT WRITE YOUR NAME OR THE NAME OF ANY STUDENT. End all comments with your first and last initial. Do not post anything without 'signing' your work with your initials. You will not get credit for your work if you do. Chuck Smith would end his writing with 'CS' in order to take credit for his writing.

Enjoy this and let's make it work!
